KUANTAN: Malaysia's pop queen Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin staged an exciting and glamorous performance on Friday in her first solo concert in her home state of Pahang.
In the energetic two-hour show held in the Grand Ballroom of Bukit Gambang Resort City, Gambang, here, she delivered 20 songs including the never-played-before number Galau, which is expected to be released as a single.
She also belted out hits like Wajah Kekasih and Jerat Percintaan, Stand Up, a song taken from her 2011 English album, and a medley of Alleycats hits.
Beat-box performer Koji joined Siti in a performance of Ku Milikmu as musician Aubrey Suwito, conducting a 5-piece band, and the Pahang Youth Music Academy percussionist group performed in support.
Around 11pm, Siti ended with Popaleh Weh, her recent song specially made for Sukan Malaysia 2012 held in Pahang last July.
Five thousand fans, some coming from Indonesia and Singapore, watched the concert at the biggest ballroom in Southeast Asia.
Three lucky Pahang fans got to spend several minutes onstage with Siti and also received goodie bags after winning a contest by Celcom X-Pax, the concert's main sponsor.
The Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah, also graced the concert. In a press conference, Siti expressed her happiness at being able to perform in the state, adding that her three-year hiatus from public performance was because she spent her time promoting SimplySiti, her beauty care line.
